Their mission of creating a sustainable and equitable food system for all Americans is more important than ever; the Big Apple tosses 1.3 million tons of food every year while so many New Yorkers are impacted by food insecurity. As we work toward a world with zero food waste, this partnership will ensure that surplus food in all five boroughs is repurposed for those facing food insecurity, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable community for all.

Want to get involved? Starting today, our users will have the option to donate to Rethink Food directly on the app. New Yorkers can now take action against climate change and food insecurity at once, by simply:

1) Picking up a Surprise Bag (saving one meal is equivalent to the CO2e of fully charging a smartphone 422 times)
